It is a proven fact that weight loss extends our lives. It has also been proven that exercise increases our quality of life. The combination of the two has shown to give a great Quality of Life with Longevity. Thanks, Bill, for this revelation.
I want to live a long life with a good quality of health and fitness. Truly, our health is our wealth. How many times have we seen a couple up in years take the floor, only to amaze us with their youthful movements and exciting styling and technique? Dancing is the language and expression of youth and good health.
Do you need to loose a few pounds? Plan to dance them off. Dance Salsa for 30 minutes, dance Swing for 45. Attend a Cha Cha group class followed by a dance party. You will loose weight and have some great exercise.
The hardest part of all this talk about health and fitness through dancing is just taking the first step and getting started. Just as in the dance, the first step is the beginning of the magic of the movement. We just have to say, “I’m ready to get started” and then make the first move.
How do you get started? Write down your goal in your planner and set a date for your first weight loss. Plan out a couple weeks of exercise and follow through. Purchase a new pair of exercise shoes, and then get a new pair of dance shoes! Go to the market and always keep some healthy food at home. Prepare a salad, it won’t hurt you. Clean out your fridge and start over with some healthy choices.
Tell your family, friends, and co-workers what you are planning to do, then post it on Facebook. Now, get up and get going. Book a dance lesson, plan a good meal, take a 30 minute walk, and drink some water. Just do something and get the ball rolling.
Purchase a weight scale. USE IT! Take a before picture and make sure to take some before measurements, especially your waist. Mark your progress in a planner and refer to it often. Just you wait, you’ll see wonderful results and the compliments will come flooding in. Take off the pounds you don’t want. Plan your workouts, dance a little more, and then enjoy your new healthy life.
Next week: “Lotsa Matza!”
Very Sincerely,
David Woodbury
